Overcoming traveler objections

Sometimes even when we feel we have matched a traveler with the perfect job for them, they may follow up with objections or additional questions. Below are common traveler objections we have encountered and how to overcome them.
Pro Tip: For every objection statement they make, we should counter with 2-3 questions to reinforce Atlas's stronger position.

  1. The pay is more with another agency.
    1. What is the other agency's relationship with the hospital?
      1. They may be claiming a higher pay rate but can they actually secure an interview?
    2. We can certainly try to negotiate on pay, but we'll need to compare apples to apples - what exactly is the other company offering?
      1. Would you be able to provide a copy of their offer in writing?

  2. I really want to stay close to home, within a specific location for my assignments.
    1. What does staying close to home mean to you specifically?
      1. Staying within your city/county?
      2. Staying within your state or surrounding states?
    2. Is staying within your preferred area more important than having a positive experience on the job?
      1. We may have a hospital in your preferred area but what if they have negative reviews left by out other travelers?
    3. We may have higher paying jobs elsewhere - does staying within your preferred area outweigh a higher pay rate?
    4. How long are you able to wait for something in your preferred area to open?

  3. I am pretty happy with my current recruiter/agency, not sure it's worth the risk of transitioning to Atlas.
    1. How long have you been with them?
      1. Can you describe what you like and dislike about working with them?
    2. If something changes with your current recruiter relationship, how can we ensure that Atlas is the first place you call?
